On the way to CO2 neutrality: iSQI receives Green IT certification

Climate change and the strains on the environment caused by business and industry are among the greatest challenges of our time. On the way to a climate-friendly and CO2-neutral future, the commitment of every individual is required. For its commitment to saving CO2 emissions, iSQI was awarded the Green IT certification.

What is the Green IT Certification?

The Green IT Certification from Swiss Global Cert honors IT companies that are already CO2 neutral or on their way to CO2 neutrality. To obtain certification, companies must become aware of their carbon footprint and take steps to reduce it. Certification is based on four basic measures: Measuring, reducing and offsetting CO2 emissions, and providing evidence of an environmentally friendly business strategy.

As a Green-IT certified company, iSQI is committed to using its resources in an environmentally responsible manner and making sustainable business practices an integral part of its business goals.

"We are delighted that the Green IT certification from Swiss Global Cert now officially validates our climate-friendly business strategy. For us, it is a great motivation to continue on our path to becoming a CO2 neutral company," says Managing Director Stephan Goericke.

How iSQI promotes a sustainable corporate culture

As an IT certifier, iSQI has been committed to sustainable and resource-saving work for several years. The company attaches particularly great importance to the climate-friendly mobility of its employees:

With the company bike leasing program and an electric scooter, which has been available to all employees since 2019, iSQI promotes the emission-free movement of all employees through city traffic. If a car is needed after all, company cars are available as electric or hybrid vehicles.

With flexible working time models, home office options and flex offices, staff can also save themselves long journeys to the office and work comfortably from home or at a location close to their home.

The company's commitment to greater environmental protection is also evident in its interaction with suppliers and external partners:

"We make a point of ensuring that our suppliers and partners represent sustainable values and come from the region," explains Goericke. For example, iSQI works closely with a green printing company located near its main headquarters in the German state of Brandenburg and engages with businesses and people from the surrounding area. In 2020, iSQI was also awarded the Brandenburg Environmental Seal for its regional commitment.

Climate-friendly certification

iSQI is also committed to climate friendliness within its certification process: the company has been reducing paper consumption for several years. What began with the purchase of a scanner to digitize paper exams has now evolved into a comprehensive digital certification process.

"With our digital SMEX and FLEX certifications, we are not only able to significantly reduce the amount of paper we use, but also allow our participants the flexibility to take our exams, regardless of your location," explains Goericke.

So it also fits that certificates are now sent by mail and that "digital badges" are increasingly taking the place of traditional certificates.

iSQI wants to become even greener

"We are already doing a lot to work sustainably," says the CEO, "but in the future we want to become even greener and reduce our CO2 emissions to CO2 neutrality."

To achieve this, the company plans to focus even more on offsetting emissions: In the near future, the support of a reforestation project is planned.
