Qualified IT professionals are in high demand worldwide – this also applies to Cuba. The IT infrastructure is continuously being upgraded, more and more WLAN hotspots are being installed and the number of mobile communication contracts is increasing. At the same time, software quality needs to be guaranteed. The International Software Quality Institute GmbH (iSQI Group) makes an important contribution to this by qualifying and certifying software testers in Cuba, supported by DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH. DEG provides funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (BMZ) develoPPP.de programme.

The cooperation agreement signed by iSQI and the Cuban IT company Desoft is part of the promotion of IT professionals in Cuba. The agreement was signed on 17 October 2017 at the Cibersociedad 2017 conference in Cuba. iSQI CEO Stephan Goericke and Desoft General Director Luis Fernandez decided to offer training and examinations to train trainers. The participants will be trained for the certifications ISTQB® Certified Tester – Foundation Level (CTFL), IREB® Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering – Foundation Level (CPRE-FL) and UXQB® Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience – Foundation Level (CPUX-F). After successfully passing the exam, they can offer the appropriate courses themselves and prepare participants for the exam at the iSQI. iSQI also supports Desoft at the accreditation process for training partners in Cuba.
